Mississippi is known as the birth place of music. I was in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, when I saw a land mark and approached it because I was touring. Many people were taking pictures on the side of the land mark; therefore, my girlfriend and I decided to take pictures as well. I learned about Roots of Rock ‘n’ Roll. The sign was placed there before rock and roll was revealed in the 1950s.  In 1936, The Mississippi Jook Band which consist of Roosevelt, Uaroy Graves, and pianist Cooney Vaughan. These men earned a niche in the annals of rock after they recorded it in Hattiesburg.  The significance of this picture is to show how rock and roll was introduced to Hattiesburg. I learned that Mr. Cooney Vaughan was reputed by some to be the best pianist in Mississippi during an era when Hattiesburg was known as a hot spot for piano players.

  1. Everyone loved the game of football and was experienced in that field. Also, the guest speakers bagged him up on some of his points because they understood where he was coming from. It was like they had a good bond when it came to football. They were not screaming at each other like most people do on shows. Instead they was calm and respectful to each other opinion.
  2. Each Podcast started off the same way followed by advertisements. I only been listening for two weeks and only heard the Podcast with three different guest speakers to talk on the show. It was two males and one female. He usually does everything by himself.
  3. Are the new changes going to make the Packers better than last year? The Packers defense was worse on first down passing in the league; therefore, what can be done to help the team defense out. Aron Rodgers and head coach are not clicking when it comes to the offense.
  4. I am a big Packers’ fan. I like how he keeps up with the latest news, but he does not post a Podcast to listen to everyday. He does repost Podcast for the people who miss a day and try to catch them back up with everyone else, and I think that is nice thing to do. My expectations have been met, because I find a Podcast that does care about the audience and fans.
  5. It is very good Podcast to listen too. His titles make you want to click and listen to the Podcast. For example, Aaron Rodgers and Matt LaFleur not on the same page over audible that draws fans to listen. Rodgers did not call the play the coach wanted him to run; therefore, the title make it seem like they do not like each other when it was not like that.
  6. It is set up for Packers’ fan only you will not here him talking about another team on the Podcast. If you have something else to do you can just turn on the Podcast and listen to it while doing whatever you need to be done.
  7. The only thing I might suggest is having more guest speakers to help him out with the show since he does everything by himself or do an online poll to stay connected with the fans and know their thoughts of the show, decisions being made, or any other way to do it. Only why I say that is because nobody like his Podcast but he has over two thousand followers and the most retweets from his Podcast was four with six hearts and one comment so get the fans involve and better the show.
  8. You can do so much with a Podcast. For example, most people listen to them while doing something else. Also, listening to a Podcast is relaxing for me. All of the Podcast I listened to, I listened when I was playing the game, driving to the store, or walking to class; therefore, I listened to them anywhere. I will stay with this one until I can find a better one since there are so many different ones to choose from. I do not think you can just stay with one because I like hearing different sides of the story.

Always a Tiger

South Panola Tigers was up big; therefore, the coach put in the second team defense. They were getting beat up badly until the Eagles got down to the one yard line after a big passing play that put them down the field. Horn Lake Eagles decided to run the ball on the first play and lost five yards. Second down with six yards to go the Eagles ran the ball again gaining three yards. It was third down with three yards to, so South Panola coach decides to does an outside linebacker blitz to stop the running play on third down. It was a success but still gained two yards. It was time to go hard or go home one yard to go on fourth down; therefore, you have to go for it to put your team back into the game. The Horn Lake Eagles went for it and got stopped on the one yard line. South Panola Tigers showed the Horn Lake Eagles who was the better team.

As the second team offense approach the huddle, the coach told The Tigers to prevent a safety. Most coaches would have run the ball to get some room. South Panola Tigers was known for running the ball, but our coach decided not to run the ball. Instead, he called a play action play and told the wide receiver to go deep. The wide receiver was happy but the lineman did not want to pick up a safety. As I approached the ball and got into my stance, the rest of the team came to get into their stance. Down, set, hut, I snapped the ball to the quarter back. I helped the guard beside me until the middle linebacker seen a hole and decided to blitz but soon as he blitz I seen it and blocked him out of the play. Tevis Flowers then seen a man down the field and threw it deep to Deandrea Harris for a ninety nine yard touchdown. South Panola Tigers did not waste any time to score as the score increased again.

The score was thirty five to zero at the end of the third quarter. As fourth quarter approaching the Horn Lake Eagles did not see a comeback in their forecast. As the South Panola Tigers’ defense kept shutting out the Eagles it was clear as water this was an easy game for the Tigers. It took the eagles three and half quarters to score three points against our second team defense. The game goes on with the South Panola Tigers winning the game 56 to three. After the game, the coach gave us a speech about how proud he was of us because we did not let the score get into our heads which means we played a fair game. Yeah we shouted and gave each other high fives, but we still played the game fair. Since we were in Horn Lake, we had to travel back to Batesville, Mississippi; therefore, some of the guys and me went to go get some food at Chili’s Grill and Bar; however, they were closed. So we had to settle with McDonalds at Loves’ Gas Station. I went in and ordered three hot’ n’ spicy sandwich with medium fry and large drink because I had worked up an appetite. As most football players after a big win meet up and talk about the game or wait until Monday and discuss it with the school. We discussed it at McDonalds and we bought up the play we thought we were going to get a safety. Our quarterback was there and he said he seen the middle linebacker blitz was hoping I seen it to pick him up. I told him, “of course I seen him we just glad you did not over throw the ball like in practice” and everyone started laughing. It was one of the best nights for me as an football player because we kept the winning streak going, and I was hanging out with good friends, who I called my family because of the bond we had. I would not change that night because it was the start of my football career. I had more games and big blocks against teams all over the state. The team and I won every game that year including playoffs and nationals which we became National and State championship. As the high school came to an end, I had to make a decision which was to play college football or get my bachelor degree in Real Estate. Of course, I choose Real Estate because I thought it was better for me. Eventually, I changed my major to coach sports because when I left sports I did not feel like the kid when I played the Eagles which were so happy to be a part of something. I hope soon I can earn my degree in Sports Studies at Mississippi State University.

Who is really the King or Goat by Isaiah Broomfield

Who is the King/Goat

How do you determine who is the best player between two good players with different techniques? Should you compare their stats, how much money they are worth, or do you compare what one has done for the people on their team or the fans cheering for them. We usually call the best player the Goat or King because no one can be compared to the person. At every family cookout, my family always talk about who is better Kobe Bryant or LeBron James. When Bryant first played, I was two years old and stuck on Michael Jordan because everybody want to be like Mike (just a joke) and he was my favorite player but good things do come to an end.

No one in the world thought it was going to be another player like Jordan so soon but when Bryant came to the lead he was the closest thing to Jordan; therefore, I grew up on Kobe since Jordan retired when I was five years old. So when I hear my folks argue about who is the best, I just sit back and think to myself. Bryant has more NBA championships and seasons than James. He was signed with Adidas but switched to Nike in 2003. In 1996, Bryant was drafted 13th overall by the Charlotte Hornets, then traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. He was eighteen years of age when he got drafted and only played six minutes of his first game with no points but a win is a win. Also he stayed with the same team and won everything with the Lakers. One of his worse games was against Memphis Grizzlies on December 20, 2004 when Shaquille O’ Neal was shipped to Miami Heat. Kobe managed eleven points in forty four minutes. Also Kobe has ten commercials that no one can forget with Adidas, Nike, Sprite, and McDonalds. He even did a commercial with James. Also Bryant has seven charities to provide for seventy two thousand kids. He made a career salary total of three hundred twenty eight million two hundred thirty eight thousand and sixty two dollars. With all of this being said, Kobe is still one of the best players alive; therefore, can we say he is the Goat of the nineties generation.

LeBron James had caught my eye later when Kobe was getting old. I was nine years old when I heard about James. In 2003 Cleveland Cavaliers picked James round one pick one, and he was eighteen years old. James first game stats were twenty five points’ six rebounds nine assists four steals and two turnovers in forty two minutes, but he lost the game. He did not win a championship until he left Cleveland and went to Miami Heat. He won three championships with Miami Heat and then went back to Cleveland Cavaliers. One of his worse games was game one NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals in 2008 versus Boston Celtics with Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett. James made just two shots out of eighteen and had ten turnovers. James lose that game. LeBron always talked about on ESPN. They wanted James to be on the cover of a movie named Space Jam 2. Michael Jordan had done Space Jam with looney tunes. He will be remembered for twenty commercials with Kia, Nike, Samsung, and Sprite. He was signed with Nike his rookie year. James has more season and finals MVP the Bryant. James has three charities that brings in a lot of money. James career earned two hundred thirty four million and earned over thirty five million in 2018. He play for Los Angeles Lakers now. The same team Kobe played and retired for. With that being said, James is what the media always discussed; therefore, can we say he is the Goat of the two thousand generation.

It is hard to say who really is the King or Goat in NBA really is because it has to do with a generation thing; therefore, if the current generation know about LeBron James then Kobe Bryant will not be the King or Goat to them because James is during their time. Kobe will only be remembered for what he has done before James; therefore, Kobe was the King/ Goat of the nineties generation while James became the King/Goat for the two thousand generation. I like Kobe and James but if James stayed in Cleveland he would have been ring less and not compared to Kobe.  Since James did that, it is hard to say he is the King/Goat; however he is still a good player in my eyes. I do not think James could put up with the defense Michael Jordan had to go through; however, Kobe would have still put out the same numbers as he always put out.
